About

The Full Story

Redmond Pride Event is organized by Axton Burton (they/them), an LGBTQ+ activist and community educator with deep roots on the Eastside. Growing up in Duvall, they were one of the first openly gender non-conforming people to go through Cedarcrest High School. They have been working since 2013 to educate Eastside health professionals about the medical care that their transgender patients deserve and have also created The Big Book of All Things Queer, an Eastside-focused educational resource and provider referral guide for the trans community, family/friends, medical providers, and those looking to learn more.

The Eastside feels a world away from Seattle's support and community events for its queer community.

Many of us cannot travel to Seattle on a good day due to transportation issues, traffic anxiety, or lack of money.

An LGBTQ+ gathering across the bridge from Seattle is long overdue!

This event will elevate established equity + equality-focused organizations/non-profits, queer artists/performers, and local LGBTQ+ owned businesses. Because June is not the only time our community should feel pride and be acknowledged, this event will be held on September 2rd, 2023!
